Elaine Long Bailey is a Senior Agent with University of Maryland Extension. She is currently serving as the 4-H Youth Development Educator for Calvert County. An Animal Scientist by training, she taught on the University of Maryland College Park Campus for more than 20 years before moving into Extension work. Some of the classes she developed and/or taught are Principles of Animal Science, Equine Business Management, Equine Industry Applications, Personnel Management, Livestock Management, and Oral Communications. Bailey is a member of the Extension Horses, Inc. group and of EDEN (Extension Disaster Education Network) Community of Practice. She earned a B.S. Degree in Animal Science from Clemson University, and an M.S. Degree in Agricultural and Extension Education from Iowa State University.
