Registration Rates
Full Conference Registration: Includes the entire conference (Wednesday and Thursday activities), including the Tuesday educational excursion and the Friday training.
Meeting Only Registration: Includes all conference activities on Wednesday and Thursday and the Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening. You may also register for the Professional Development Training Session on Friday for an additional charge.
Single-Day Only Registration: Includes all sessions on either Wednesday or Thursday.
Professional Development Training Session Only Registration: A tabletop emergency exercise related to Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) will be conducted.
Rates are adjusted as the date of the conference nears.

Please see below for important information about our hotel’s credit/debit card policy regarding charges for the attendees:
Upon arriving to the hotel, attendees will need to provide a valid credit/debit card at check in and an authorization request for the total amount of room and tax for their stay, plus, an additional $50 per night for incidentals, such as parking, room service, etc., will be placed on the guest’s credit/debit card.
Upon check-out, the payment card will be charged for the actual amount incurred during their stay and any overages will be released back to their card. Please be aware that the release may take up to 7-10 business days to fully process, but generally only takes 3-5 business days.
Individual reservations must be cancelled by 11:59 p.m. 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid being charged a no show fee of the first night’s lodging.
The Hotel may charge attendees one night’s lodging fee as compensation for the harm caused to the Hotel by unscheduled early departures (an Early Departure Fee). An Early Departure Fee may only be charged if an attendee checks out of the Hotel prior to the attendee’s scheduled departure date, without having notified the Hotel by midnight at least 24 hours in advance of the early departure.

Educational Excursion
Included in FULL Meeting Rate.
There are two options for the Tuesday pre-conference educational excursion:
- Tuesday morning, all local educational excursion participants will board a bus and travel 20 miles to Tybee Island. Visit innovative coastal resiliency collaborative project sites involving UGA, Georgia Tech, and the City of Tybee Island, including a living, stabilizing shoreline created from oyster beds at Burton 4-H Center, the Ship Wake erosion taking place on the North End of Tybee, and tidal salt marsh areas prone to high tide/climate change-induced flooding will be explored. Then travel to the Coastal Georgia Botanical Garden for lunch, a tour of the gardens, and a visit with officials from the Chatham County Emergency Management Agency. After lunch, choose from the following 2 options:
- Option 1: Travel to Skidaway Island to visit the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium, located about 30 minutes from downtown Savannah. After a brief introduction to UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, excursion participants will tour the Aquarium featuring 16 exhibit tanks and a touch tank showcasing a variety of Georgia’s marine life. Then go behind the scenes at UGA’s Oyster Hatchery, the state’s first, expected to revive the once-thriving oyster industry in Georgia.
(Limit 30) - Option 2: Tour the Georgia Port Authority located in Garden City, home of the Port of Savannah – the single largest and fastest-growing container terminal in the nation. The port is located 20 minutes from the Botanical Garden and 6 miles from the conference hotel. Limited to the first 50 registrants. Due to security procedures, those requesting the port tour must register by July 31 so that information for security checks can be requested and processed.
- Option 1: Travel to Skidaway Island to visit the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium, located about 30 minutes from downtown Savannah. - *All boat activities are weather-dependent and require appropriate and adequate footwear, clothing, and preparation for students and chaperones. UGA boat captains reserve the right to cancel these field studies in the event of unsafe weather conditions or inadequate group preparation.
Professional Development Training
A tabletop exercise (TTX) related to an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) with zoonotic potential (ability to transmit from animals to humans) will be conducted. The TTX will involve three modules with different scenarios in which participants will be able to learn and experience various response roles during an outbreak of HPAI in a backyard poultry flock.
Prior to the TTX, a panel of experts will discuss Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), including a general overview of the disease and roles and responsibilities of state and federal agencies, Extension service, and the poultry industry. Workshop participants will be encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussions regarding state-specific needs and gaps.

The deadline for proposals for EDEN Annual Conference 2023 was April 28th, 2023. Presenters will be notified before June 10th, 2023.
