Susan Moore
Biography
Susan L. Moore is the UGA Extension Family Consumer Sciences Agent in Laurens County, Georgia. She also serves as the Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Supervisor for Laurens county, supervising two program assistants. Susan has had the privilege of serving as a County Extension Agent for fourteen years. She serves on UGA’s Disaster and Emergency Response Team. Her daily work focuses primarily on nutrition and chronic disease, food safety and preservation, and strong families and healthy children. Susan has won numerous state and national awards for her work with extension – including programming awards for child care and nutrition, research awards for her work with EFNEP and SNAP-Ed, and communication awards for various newspaper articles, publications, and curriculums she has written or co-authored. In her previous career as a Community Resource Specialist for the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) for ten years, Susan received certification in American Red Cross Shelter Operation and was responsible for writing Dodge County DFCS’s emergency preparedness plan.
