The 2019 EDEN Annual Meeting was held on September 17-20, 2019, in Spokane, Washington, and nearly 100 extension professionals attended. A huge thank you to Washington State University Extension for serving as the local hosts. Since the meeting was hosted in the western region, topics focused heavily on wildfires and earthquakes with the keynote and capstone speakers focusing on the University of Alaska’s response to the 2018 earthquake. Former Extension Director of the University of Alaska, Fred Schlutt, provided an administrative view of the response while Stephen Brown, an Alaska Extension educator, provided stories from his on-ground experience. In addition, Great emphasis was put on emotional and mental well-being following a disaster, from both the perspective of clients, as well as educators serving in the field. Presentation materials are being shared on the EDEN website as they are provided on the Annual Meeting page. If you have not shared your presentation materials yet, please send those to Abby Lillpop or Cheyanne Geideman.
