Biography

Stephen Burnett currently serves as the Disaster Assessment and Recovery Specialist for Disaster District 16D, which covers the counties of Austin, Colorado, Fort Bend, Matagorda and Wharton. In this role, he serves as the AgriLife Specialist in support of the AgriLife agents in those 5 counites for disaster response and long-term recovery efforts. He has worked for Texas A&M AgriLife for 3 years and before that he worked for Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service as a Wide Area Search Instructor for 6 years. Stephen is a retired Navy Damage Control Chief, Fire Marshal and Assistant Fire Chief at Ingleside Fire and Rescue and has over 35 years of experience in Emergency Management. Stephen and his wife, Alona, are blessed with 3 daughters, 2 son-n-laws and 6 grandchildren and live in Somerville, Tx.
