Impacts of Disaster on Youth
September 13, 2017
According to research focusing on children’s mental and physical responses to disaster, children are more touched by a traumatic event than adults. This affect differs depending on the age and stage of the child’s development, with adolescents being at most risk. Lynette Black, Oregon State University Extension, will discuss how disasters affect youth of all ages and what adults can do both before and after the event to alleviate the effects. Debbie Hurlbert, Louisiana State University AgCenter, will moderate. Click here to join the live webinar as a guest.
