Biography

My name is Charlene Miller and I am the local unit director and agriculture Extension agent in Butler County, Kansas. I have been with Extension for 7 years. Prior to Extension, I spent 12 years working for Butler County Emergency Management where I served as an Administrative Assistant and was Assistant Director at the time I moved into Extension. I have taken an extensive amount of Emergency Management courses including receiving my EMP (Exercise Master Practitioner) certification. I enjoyed designing and conducting disaster exercises, serving as a planning section chief during the Greensburg torndao and teaching the severe weather safety presentations that were prepared by the National Weather Service. I remain an active weather spotter. I am also a volunteer firefighter of over 20 years.
