Callie N. Nelson
Assistant Director for County Operations
Callie Nelson serves as one of two Assistant Directors for County Office Operations for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, a role she has been in for the past 1.5 years. Prior to this position she served as a County Extension Coordinator and worked closely with her local Emergency Management Agency where she served on the local Emergency Response Council and conducted emergency preparedness training. She has been an Extension employee for 32 years and has worked in various roles, including 4-H Youth Development work, Family and Consumer Science, and Community Development.
In her current role, she is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising County Extension Coordinators for all 67 counties in Alabama. She also works with various state leaders and agencies to identify and provide educational resources for local programs in the areas of Community Development and County Administration.
