Dr. Carolyn J. Williams began her career as an Extension agent with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in 1977. After serving as an agent fir 18 years in 4-H and FCS, she assumed the position as Program Leader for Family & Consumer Sciences with the Cooperative Extension Program at Prairie View A&M University in 1997. In 2001 she assumed the role of Executive Associate Director where she has administrative oversight of extension agents, program leaders and specialists in 35 Texas counties. Carolyn has participated in the EDEN annual conferences since 2012; currently serves as the 1890 representative on the EDEN Executive Board; recently trained by FEMA “Emergency Management for Faith-Based Organizations; the Community & Economic Development unit conducts an annual Emergency Management Summit on the campus of PVAMU; Extension agents receive disaster education training yearly and develop a County Emergency Management Plan. The county and headquarters staff provided information and support to Hurricane Harvey families and continue today assisting families.
