Biography
I joined the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension team of agents in January 2013. I serve as the Family and Community Health Agent in the far East Texas county of Newton. In my time as an Extension agent, I have been involved in programming in the areas of Child Passenger Safety, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Diabetes Self-Management, General Health and Nutrition, and 4-H & Youth Development.
After seeing Newton County impacted several years in a row with flooding and hurricanes, I became interested in several areas of Emergency Management. I am involved with the Jasper/Newton Long Term Recovery Group, encourage disaster preparedness, and have helped in the past with various FEMA tasks, such as performing preliminary damage assessments and working with counties in filing necessary paperwork.
