Georgia LERP: Cattle truck rollovers are relatively rare occurrences, but when they do occur, it can be an enormous undertaking for first responders to take care of the scene in a way that promotes good cattle welfare while understanding the public perception concerns and its potential impact on the industry. The collaborative team has worked together to train first responders across Georgia. Over the last four years, 18 Livestock Emergency Response Planning (LERP) sessions have been held, training 667 first responders in 200 municipalities. Those trained include fire service, police, state patrol, DOT, CHAMP, HERO, animal control, 911 dispatch, and 511 operators.
