Biography

I served 24 years as a Police Officer for the City of Redlands, Ca, Police Department. I served 31 years on the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team. I have been a member of the federal Region 9 Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team with multiple deployments to include both domestic and international. I have served as the team commander, deputy commander and team training officer with multiple training events planned and delivered to local, state, federal and DoD organizations. I currently work as a Disaster Assessment Recovery Specialist for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension with multiple deployments and trainings. I have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, a master’s degree in military history, a master’s degree in Homeland Security/Public Health Preparedness, and will be starting my Doctor of Science in Emergency Management in August 2026. I am the recipient of the Redlands Police Department Police Cross medal for bravery and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Medal of Valor. I also received the DMORT Region 9 Team member of the year award from HHS along with being named the City of Redlands Police Officer of the Year, and the 40&8 veterans organization Police Officer of the Year for the State of California.
