Biography

Since completing her MSc Environmental Management, Yale School of Environment in 1991, Suzy Hodgson has been committed to sustainability. She worked in environmental strategy and impact assessment in Europe for 16 years before moving to Vermont in 2008. Based at the Center for Sustainable Agriculture, University of Vermont Extension from 2013, she is currently working with the USDA Northeast Climate Hub on developing a climate learning network/forum. Her previous work with the Hub includes economic case studies of climate adaptation as well as a video series focused on farmers and climate change. Her work ranges from applied research, outreach, and education projects in wool and hemp to small-scale diversification and carbon and risk management on farms. Alongside her UVM work, she co-created LiveGreenVT.org in 2020, serves on her town’s energy committee and the Board of Acorn Renewable Energy Co-op. She also co-founded and coordinated yourfarmstand.com, a virtual farmers market platform for over 150 farmers from 2010 to 2016.
